I’m not receiving notifications – what do I do?

  1. Try sending a test notification to yourself
     

    1. Either through the ‘BART Members’ area:

    2.  

    3. Or through the smartphone app itself:
       

      TestNotification-Set_small 

      Note: As soon as you tap ‘Test Notification’ immediately tap your devices’ home button so you can receive the notification outside the app itself.

 

  1. Ensure your volume has been turned up for notifications

  1. Try logging out and back in or uninstalling app and re-downloading from the relevant store

     
    Note: if you don’t remember your password, reset your password first by going into settings and taping Reset Password.

  1. Ensure notifications are enabled for the BART app

     

    1. Go into ‘settings’, select the ‘General’ tab and then the ‘Application manager’ option

    3. Select ‘BART’ from the list of applications and ensure the ‘Show notifications’ option has been ticked

  1. Ensure your mobile data is turned on and working correctly

     

    1. Go to your ‘Connections’ tab in settings and select ‘Data Usage’

    3. In the data usage screen tap on the devices ‘options’ button (usually the right button next to the home button)
    4.  

    5. Ensure ‘Auto Sync data’ is TICKED and ‘Restrict background data’ is UN-TICKED

    7. Ensure that BART is using data, and that ‘Restrict background data’ is UN-TICKED under Mobile and Wi-Fi

  1. If notifications are still not operating; Reset your app preferences 

     

    1. Go back to your ‘General’ tab on the settings page

    3. Tap on the devices ‘options’ button (usually the right button next to the home button)

    5. Tap the ‘reset app preferences’ option

Also please note: Forcibly removing the BART app from memory (swiping it away) may also destroy its push notification service and will not function again until you open the BART app again. (this is not the case for iPhones or the latest Android operating system). This may be contributing to the not receiving notification’s problem.  BART should be in smart phone memory all the time.
